Becky's Brides is a Birmingham, Alabama based wedding planning studio creating joyful weddings full of Southern hospitality. Thanks for stopping by.
I think it’s safe to say that 2020 looked nothing like any of us expected it to. At the beginning of the year I was so excited about all that was to come this year, but many of those hopes and dreams came crashing down around me in March. To say this year was a challenge would be an understatement. It’s probably no surprise that my personality type favors a plan. At times, the unknowns of 2020 seemed too difficult to bear. But as I reflect on 2020, I’ve realized that while it was a hard, hard year, there was also a lot of good this year too.
We are ending this difficult year with incredibly grateful hearts.
From a wedding planning perspective, we did our first incredible wedding in 30A, got to watch a beautiful heart transplant survivor finally get married, pulled off our biggest at home production to date, got to work with a sister of a former bride which is always such a treat, got to do an incredible installation of disco balls, and got to show off the most incredible plan B you’ve ever seen to name a few highlights! While the number of weddings that we did this year was a fraction of what we normally get to do, we’ve had the absolute BEST clients there are and we couldn’t be more grateful for that – especially this year!
We moved to a new office on the first floor (thank you Lord!), we are celebrating almost a year of Kayte joining the Becky’s Brides team, we booked our first wedding in Nashville, and we have an INCREDIBLE line up of weddings happening in 2021 that we could not be more excited about. Take that 2020!
From a personal standpoint, we started building our dream home! We could not be more excited about our move in the next few months. My husband and I celebrated 10 years of marriage and privately renewed our vows. It was so special to spend a weekend together celebrating the last 10 years and looking forward to what’s to come. The pandemic allowed me so much extra time to be at home with my precious daughter. We ‘renovated’ a playhouse, took her to the animal safari, and spent so much time outdoors together as a family. That time with her is something I will cherish for the rest of my life.
While I know there are still a lot of unknowns about 2021, I am still excited for a fresh start. We have so much to look forward to and so much to be grateful for right now. We are wishing you and yours a happy new year!! Thank you for being here!!
