Megan Leigh + Carpenter | Wedding at Bridgestreet Gallery and Loft + Reception at Regions Field

It seems like every wedding we’ve blogged recently starts with “planning a wedding during a global pandemic is not for the faint of heart.” But this is so true.  Megan Leigh and Car dealt with an unexpected venue closure, which forced us to reprint invitations, re-design the entire wedding, and lose a wedding vendor.  That’s a lot of “problems” for one couple to handle, but these two handled everything that was thrown at them with grace and poise.  And at the end of the day it was SO worth it.

Megan Leigh really talked the most about two things during our first meeting: lilies were her favorite flower and she wanted to incorporate them somehow, and she wanted to “bring the funk” to her wedding day.  She said, “how cool would it be to dance the night away under a disco ball?  Pretty cool.  But how much cooler would it be if they danced the night away under 75 (!!!) disco balls?!  Incredible.  And that’s exactly what happened!  Megan Leigh’s wedding day was full of lilies, disco balls, and a whole lot of love, joy, and laughter!

We really kicked off the design with the custom stationery which featured a stunning velum wrap painted with beautiful lilies.  A nod to the design that was to come.  The goal of the wedding design was to mix timeless elements with a modern disco.  The ceremony at Bridgestreet Gallery and Loft was completely classic  featuring a stunning, luscious arbor filled with beautiful lilies and other white blooms.  We carried that same style into the reception, but mixed it with a 25 foot ceiling installation of greenery and disco balls over the black and white dance floor.  In addition to the incredible disco ball installation, some of my favorite design elements included the incredible head table with gorgeous tall arrangements, the 7 tier cake featuring a beautiful floral cascade setup in a sea of florals, and the stunning florals that lined the stage.  It was one of the most fun weddings we’ve ever got to pull together!

Megan Leigh and Car, it was a dream to plan your big day with you!  You guys are so much fun, and an absolute joy to be around.  THANK YOU for trusting us with such a special and important day!  I know your marriage will be full of joy, and we are cheering you on every step of the way!!
