Becky's Brides is a Birmingham, Alabama based wedding planning studio creating joyful weddings full of Southern hospitality. Thanks for stopping by.
When I met Savannah and her mom for the first time, I knew planning Savannah and Cody’s wedding with them was going to be a literal dream. They envisioned Savannah’s father walking her down the aisle at her childhood home and celebrating with their family and friends afterwards. They wanted a beautiful tent with timeless and elegant design elements featuring LOTS of white flowers. They wanted their guests to feel comfortable, be well fed, and have an incredible time. They cared about all the little details, and wanted to incorporate things that had incredible meaning and sentiment. Sign. Me. Up!
This wedding was literally everything my wedding planner self has ever dreamt about and more. But more than that, this family was incredible to spend almost a year with. Savannah has a heart of gold and has the unique ability to make everyone she comes in contact with feel special. Savannah and her mom are true best friends. They complete each other’s sentences, truly like all of the same things, and have a relationship I can only dream of having with my own daughter one day. Savannah’s father is one of the kindest and most generous people I ever met. He has mastered the art of “happy wife, happy life.” There is nothing more he wanted than to give his daughter (and his wife!) the wedding of their dreams. And Cody? He sets the standard for what a true gentleman is. He treats his wife (!!) like the gem she is, and treats everyone around him like pure gold. I am already praying that (in 50 years) Lyla marries a man that treats her just the way Cody treats Savannah. Planning a wedding at a private residence has a unique set of challenges, but planning a wedding at a private residence in the middle of a global pandemic is next level difficult. We dealt with state mandates, postponements, and numerous changes, but this family handled every single thing thrown at them with so much grace. I could not be more thankful that I had the opportunity to work with them.
There were so many things I loved about this wedding day. From a design perspective there were SO MANY incredible details. To name a few (or ten), I loved the incredible flowers that adorned the aisle that Savannah walked down with her father, I loved the stunning wedding cake and incredible monogram and floral backdrop it sat in front of, I loved the incredible floral and chandelier installations in the ceiling, I loved the mirrored head tables complete with custom monogramed plates, I love that we covered the pool (!!!) with hardwood flooring to create an incredible lounge area for guests. In addition to the incredible design elements there were so many heartfelt details including ceremony songs that honored Savannah’s parents and grandparents, a sweet and fun Father of the Bride dance that ended with the entire family joining in to “We Are Family.” It was such a special and beautiful day.
To the Smith and Fox families, planning this wedding with you all was one of the biggest highlights of my career as a wedding planner. It was an absolute joy to get to know you all and dream up (and execute) such an incredible wedding day. You all set the bar for Southern hospitality so high, and it was a privilege to work with you on such a special day. I know Savannah and Cody will do great things with their marriage, and I am cheering you on every step of the way! We love you guys!
