You’re newly engaged and you’ve been dreaming about your wedding dress your whole life! You might even have a Pinterest board dedicated to the most important dress you’ll ever wear. You’re getting ready to walk in the bridal store but then you realize you’re not prepared! We know you’ve probably never shopped for a wedding dress before, so we want to help you feel as ready as possible to pick out the perfect gown for you! We’re sharing our top tips for wedding dress shopping with you!

Do your hair and make-up: If we had to guess, we’d imagine that you’re going to have your hair and make-up professionally done for your wedding day. While we don’t think you have to do this for your bridal appointment, we do suggest that you do your own hair and make-up so that you have a better idea of how fabulous you’ll look on your wedding day!

Don’t bring too many people: We know you love your aunts and cousins and your sorority sisters, but that doesn’t mean they should all be at your bridal appointment! The more opinions you throw into the mix, the easier it is to forget your own. Bring along 2-4 of the most important people in your life to your first trip to ensure a smooth and easy process!

Try on styles that are out of your comfort zone: Going back to that Pinterest board of yours! It’s so easy to walk into the bridal store thinking you know exactly what you want, but you just never know. Your stylist will be able to get a feel for your style and will know what looks best on your body type, so listen to them! Try on a couple of dresses that are totally different from what you imagined!

Shop on a weekday instead of a Saturday: Just like shopping anywhere else, bridal shops are very busy on Saturdays! If at all possible, try to schedule your appointment for a weekday so that you won’t feel rushed and to ensure that you’ll get the attention you deserve!
