Ever since I was a little girl I dreamed of being a girl momma. And while I would certainly love a little baby boy, when we popped the confetti and I saw the color PINK I literally thought my heart would explode. I could not wait to get started on her nursery! I knew I wanted a wallpaper feature wall behind the crib, and I absolutely fell in love with the floral Jolie wallpaper from Project Nursery. It was what kicked off the overall design of the room, and honestly what I think is the “showstopper” element of the room. Because the wallpaper is pretty busy, I just wanted to keep everything else pretty clean and neutral so the wallpaper would really stand out.
I love gold accents and wanted to be able to incorporate them in small ways in the nursery. We bought a basic white dresser and dressed it up by changing out the white knobs with the gold bow knobs from Crate and Barrel. I love the gold bows – they are just so feminine and girly! I knew I wanted a mirror in the nursery (and it was a good choice because baby girl loves looking at herself, haha!), and the gold round mirror from Target was an inexpensive choice that fit perfectly over the shelves. We needed something over the dresser and since we did wallpaper behind the crib (versus her name that I see a lot behind cribs), I wanted to incorporate her name somewhere. I found some watercolor prints on Etsy that matched the wallpaper pretty well, framed them in some gold frames from Target and ended up with perfect, inexpensive art for over dresser. I knew I wanted to finish off the room with a chandelier, but I didn’t want a standard crystal chandelier. This was probably the hardest piece to find, but after HOURS of searching, I finally found the perfect one complete with gold accents from Overtstock.
The nursery is seriously my favorite room in the house now. I can literally spend hours in there just rocking her or reading to her. She even (surprisingly) loves getting her diaper changed on the changing table. It’s so calming and has so much beautiful light in there. After years of waiting for our sweet girl, bringing her home to this nursery was so special. I hope she grows up to love pink as much as I do!
A huge thanks to Alisha Crossley Photography for photographing our nursery for us! We will cherish these photos forever!
