Paige + Joseph | Highlands UMC + The Club | Real Wedding

The first time I met Paige, she described her style as “over the top, glamorous, and classic.”  There are truly no words more perfect to describe her wedding day.  She was completely inspired by the royal wedding – not Kate or Meghan’s – but Diana’s.  It was so fun to be able to plan a “royal wedding” fit for our queen Paige!

Like every wedding should be, the tone for Paige and Joseph’s wedding was set with their stationery.  We worked with Empress Stationery to create completely custom stationery inspired both by Paige’s vision of a royal wedding as well as incorporating her love for Birmingham with a watercolor of the view from The Club. My favorite details of her paper suite were the beautiful double ply invitations filled with navy letterpress, complete with navy envelopes and beautiful white calligraphy by The Refined Pen.  What. A. Statement. for her guests to get in the mail!

Paige wanted her royal wedding inspiration to be quite literal.  She selected a beautiful silk ball gown from Diane’s Formal Affair (with pockets!) and topped it off with a stunning tiara.  I can’t think of a more royal inspired look than the one that Paige donned on her wedding day.  To complete her wedding day look, she needed a bouquet that really made a statement, and our friends at Southern Posies truly delivered! Just like Princess Diana, Paige rocked a beautiful cascade bouquet to accompany her down the aisle.  Isn’t she stunning?!

We started the day at The Tutwiler Hotel (one of our favorites!) with plans to travel around Birmingham to take photos.  Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t very nice to us and we needed a back up plan (which you know we ALWAYS have).  We popped into Bridgestreet Gallery and Loft, which was the perfect location for some beautiful couple photos as well as wedding party photos.  Paige and Joseph had a large wedding party, so we really needed the space to make her portraits epic!  My favorites?  Joseph spinning his beautiful bride and Paige walking down the stairs. Jennifer Woodbery captured these shots so beautifully!

Paige always dreamed of getting married in a church, and we wanted to deliver!  There were a few challenges as her wedding date was during lent, so many churches do not allow weddings during that time.  However, Highlands United Methodist opened their doors to us and this iconic downtown Birmingham church was the perfect location for Paige and Joseph to become husband and wife!

Following a beautiful evening ceremony, Paige’s family invited their guests to celebrate Paige and Joseph’s new marriage at one of Birmingham’s most classic venues – The Club.  The Club’s ballroom is the absolute perfect location to dress up for a royal inspired wedding.  Guests were blown away as they were welcomed into the ballroom with a stunning draped entrance by Design Productions and greeted with a beautiful champagne display designed by Southern Posies.  In case you guys haven’t noticed a theme with our weddings – we LOVE a champs display!

With a royal inspired wedding, one of the most important details was the bride’s cake.  And this showstopper by Barb’s Cakes was certainly fit for a queen! Six layers of beautiful detail, separated with crystals and complete with Paige and Joseph’s custom monogram – it could not have been more perfect for our beautiful bride!

Paige and Joseph and their guests enjoyed delicious food and drinks from The Club and danced the evening away to an epic showcase by Nationwide Coverage.  At the end of the celebration, Paige and Joseph left their guests in a stunning Rolls Royce from Coats Classic Cars.  It was literally the most perfect, royal inspired wedding day there ever was.

Paige and Joseph (and Pat!), it was an absolute pleasure to be able to plan with you over the past year.  Our planning meetings were SO fun, but what was even more fun was seeing all of our hard work come together to create the most stunning wedding day for you two.  It was an honor to be able to watch your love story – 6 years in the making – start a new chapter of what we are sure will be a beautiful marriage.  Thank you for trusting us with such a special and incredibly epic wedding day!  We wish you love and happiness forever!
