Becky's Brides is a Birmingham, Alabama based wedding planning studio creating joyful weddings full of Southern hospitality. Thanks for stopping by.
High atop Red Mountain, in the heart and soul of Birmingham, sits a statue known as Vulcan. For Birmingham natives like us, this is not just a statue, but a heartwarming piece of our souls, of our culture. We grew up watching fireworks on Independence Day with our tall warrior amidst the smoke and pizazz, and more times than could possibly be counted, Vulcan has welcomed us as we drive into the best city on Earth.
Becky’s Brides couple, Megan and Adam, could not have chosen a more historic venue to become husband and wife than Vulcan Park and Museum. Not only does it possess a spectacular view of the city, it encompasses history and charm throughout every detail of the grounds. This week, we are so excited to share Megan and Adam’s fabulous Birmingham wedding with you. Special thanks to J.Woodbery Photography for capturing every moment.
Meet Megan and Adam. Pretty adorable aren’t they?
Meet Vulcan. Having met on match.com, Megan and Adam chose the most charming matchbook programs which symbolized the modern day blind date which brought them together. This was a DIY project that Megan’s mom took on. We loved this idea, and Megan’s mom did an excellent job with these beauties!
From day one, they longed for a modern feel. Their inspiration was drawn from custom green and white table toppers, and you will see throughout their decor that it was the perfect choice for our sweet couple. Clear skies along with October Fall air took the perfect ceremony spot and made it truly spectacular.
Although he was not a part of the ceremony, Megan and Adam’s sweet and perfectly behaved dog, Mouse was present and dressed to impress.
I heard a quote once, “Excellence is in the details. Give attention to the details, and the excellence will come.” This truly summed up Megan and Adam’s wedding day. There was so much character and charm throughout the details, and it surely brought the excellence. Speaking of charm, Megan’s bouquet was adorned with an Oragami Owl charm holding the Irish penny Megan’s dad gave her mom to carry on their wedding day 30 years ago. Not wanting to risk taping it to her shoe, Megan and her mom found a creative way to safely carry this precious family token. Here are some of our favorite detail shots from their wedding.
Instead of the traditional grooms cake, Megan and Adam had the the most amazing Candy Buffet that Becky’s Brides has ever seen. Megan’s mom hand selected each piece of candy and every single container. It was quite a spectacular display – and man, that candy was yummy!
The Birmingham skyline adorned Megan’s Olexa’s bridal cake along with their best fur-friends.
As they bid their guests farewell, Megan and Adam were surprised by their family by none other than Batman’s Bat signal lighting their way to their happily ever after.
Megan and Adam were so fun to work with and we are honored they chose us to celebrate with them. We now leave you with one last glimpse of a joyous couple and a great day in the life of Becky’s Brides.
