Marianne and Lance met at a Troy football game and got engaged while hiking at Oak Mountain. They love being outdoors – hanging out at the lake and the beach and being with all their friends. Marianne is a travel planner for her job, so she knew she wanted to have a stress free wedding planning experience. She was a DREAM to work with – sweet, decisive and so fun to be around. Her bubbly personality is contagious and you can’t help but smile and laugh every time you are around her. She and Lance are the perfect match – their sweet personalities mesh so well together. They literally couldn’t stop smiling the entire day. Meet our sweet couple, Marianne and Lance.
Since they was getting married downtown, Marianne really focused on incorporating a lot of Birmingham aspects into their wedding. Our favorite detail was the custom watercolor of this beautiful church that Empress Stationery did for her save the dates and wedding invitations.
Despite having a December wedding, Marianne wanted to stay away from red. She was inspired by neutral colors, loose natural greenery and small pops of gold.
Studio Flower did an excellent job bringing her vision to life.
One thing Marianne was positive about was that she wanted to get married at First Presbyterian Church – where her parents were also married.
Our sweet couple hopped on the cutest red trolley and took photos at some of Birmingham’s most iconic locations. How fun is their bridal party? We love nothing more than a good popping champagne picture!
Back at the church, Marianne and Lance said their vows in front of their closest friends and family. It was a beautiful ceremony and was so full of love and joy!
Guests headed to the gorgeous
Clubhouse on Highland for the reception while our newlyweds snuck in some sunset photos. They couldn’t wait to head to their celebration!
“Our wedding day was everything we dreamed it would be! Having all our loved ones under one roof was indescribable! We wanted a ‘non-Christmasy’ Christmas time wedding. That being said, we gave a fabulous nod to the holidays when the entire reception sang a Christmas carol my grandmother wrote years ago to the tune of Jingle Bells… we had the lyrics printed and handed out on the dance floor. The big group photo happened right after we all sang together- it was one of the best highlights of our big day!” -Marianne Miller
Thank you, Marianne and Lance, for including
Becky’s Brides in your big day! We wish you all the love in the world!
