Becky's Brides is a Birmingham, Alabama based wedding planning studio creating joyful weddings full of Southern hospitality. Thanks for stopping by.
From the moment we met Kelsey and Ian, we knew these two were special. Their relationship began after a sweet friendship and on their 3rd dating anniversary Ian took Kelsey to Birmingham Botanical Gardens, for a walk around the gardens. He gave her a beautiful journal read her scripture from Ephesians 5 and 1 Corinthians 13 and prayed over their relationship and their future. At the bottom of 1 Corinthians 13, he had written “will you marry me?” Their proposal set the tone for how these two have centered their lives around Christ and how they wanted to make sure their wedding day was a day of workshop and celebration of the covent of marriage.
Kelsey and Ian’s wedding day was one of the most joyful and peaceful wedding days we’ve ever been a part of. Kelsey was not anxious and the whole day she was just so excited to see her groom. After their (very sweet) first look, you literally couldn’t wipe the smile off their faces. From this day forward, these two were one and it was a joy that is indescribable.
From a planning perspective, Kelsey was an absolute joy to work with. She knew she wanted an outdoor wedding with blues, grays and pops of dark fall colors and greenery. Rockhurst Farm was the perfect venue to bring her vision to life! She has beautiful style, so we were able to take her vision and work with her to create the most beautiful fall wedding day. I loved so many aspects of her wedding day, but some of my absolute favorite parts of the aesthetics were the stunning floral chandelier that hung over the head table with a beautiful floral and greenery runner full of candles, the stunning flowers that adorned the tree that Kelsey and Ian were married at, and Kelsey’s beautiful dress with sweet flower details that we replicated on the stunning (and delicious!) cake from Barb’s Cakes.
These two had some of the sweetest moments together on their wedding day. Some of my favorites include reading their letters to each other at their first look together, Ian’s INCREDIBLE reaction when he saw his bride for the first time, the sweetest worship song that they sang together with all of their guests during their ceremony, and how they danced together in the rain when it started pouring at the end of the evening.
Kelsey and Ian, I have no doubt that you two are going to do amazing things together. I am positive that your relationship will be a light of hope and love for everyone around you to see. I can’t wait to see where your marriage takes you! Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Thompson! Thank you so much for trusting us with such a beautiful and perfect wedding day!
