When we met Erika and her mom I knew this wedding was going to be one we would never forget! They loved personal details (like planning a beautiful ceremony at their home) and stunning design elements. Erika works as the Senior Manager of Global Visual Merchandising at Beauty Blender, and travels all over the world for her job. She’s literally the coolest person I know, and it was incredible to be able to plan such a cool, unique, and edgy wedding with her!
The design was unlike anything we’ve gotten to work on before. We pulled in pops of black into her design, starting with black save the dates, and carrying the edgy vibe throughout with small black elements such as black flatware, black lanterns, black chairs, and black table numbers. It was just enough to give it a cool edge that no one has ever seen before, and I loved it so much! We mixed those edgy details with some modern pieces like ghost chairs for the ceremony and marble chargers, and the end result was just incredible. We designed the floor plan of the reception to make the dance floor the centerpiece of the entire room. AG Lighting installed cafe lights in a starburst pattern that drew everyone’s attention to the beautiful ceiling display that Hot House Design Studio created. It was the perfect location for Erika and Sean to share their first dance as husband and wife!
Erika has always wanted an outdoor ceremony and we planned a stunning ceremony at a super special location – her childhood home that features an incredible view of the Magic City. Unfortunately Mother Nature was not at all kind to us at all and it rained all. day. long. Fortunately we had an incredible back up plan (as we always do!) with the beautiful reception venue and we were able to effortlessly transition everything to create a stunning celebration for our bride and groom.
One of my favorite parts of Erika and Sean’s big day was actually not anything we even planned, but the wedding gift Sean got his bride. Erika has always loved Hello Kitty since she was a child. He planned a trip for them to Tokyo on the Hello Kitty plane and had a model Hello Kitty plane made to give her! Can you even believe that?! Talk about groom goals.
Erika and Sean (and Yin!), it was an absolute pleasure to work with you for the past year to plan this incredible day! It was an honor to be able to witness the two of you become husband and wife, and to get to know you two throughout this entire process. I loved having you as clients, but I love even more that I made an incredible life long friend. Thank you for trusting me with such an incredibly special day! I can’t wait to see where your marriage takes you, and I’m so excited to cheer you both on in everything you do!
