Buy a suit, shave, and show up. Clear-cut. Easy. Every groomsman’s dream…right? Unbeknownst to you, being a groomsman has unspoken expectations, and playing your role is more than merely showing up. So to help you guys out, today, we are going to give you four tips on how to be a groomsman, and better yet, the leading MVP of the male wedding party
1. Respect the process.
Brides plan their wedding day to the very last detail, and every one of those details matter. Respect the process of the day. Wedding Days are sacred, and negativity has no place in that process. So, although you may not understand some of the process, or let’s face it, any of the process, let your attitude resound with honor, respect, and check your negativity at the door.
2. Be helpful and come prepared.
Be prepared to put those big muscles to use. Ask if there is anything needed throughout the planning process, on the wedding day, and plan to stay after the wedding to help with anything needed to get everyone home at a decent time at the end of the night.
3. Don’t wait ‘til the last minute.
Procrastination plays a major role in wedding stress. Don’t be that person. Be fitted and purchase your wedding attire in a timely manner and be on top of any other requests that may be asked of you. FYI: Ladies LOVE a well dressed man.
4. Be present.
Wedding day is not the day to hide in the corner, in your car, or even in the bathroom, to keep up with the football score. Commit to being present throughout the entire wedding process.
Our hope is you now feel a little better equipped for the awesome role of being a groomsman. You’re going to do great, we just know it.
