Emilie + Jake | A Garden Wedding at Pursell Farms

Planning Emilie and Jake’s wedding with Emilie and her mom was a literal dream.  They are an absolute joy to be around, trusted us completely (even when torrential downpours came through the entire wedding day), and had the most beautiful style!  Emilie and her mom were guests at a wedding we planned last Summer – it’s always such an honor to get to work with brides who’ve seen our work firsthand!

There were SO many things we loved about this wedding day – so many beautiful and intentional details.  Emilie’s late grandmother had a garden with magnolias in it, something she definitely wanted to incorporate into her wedding day.  She let us take those ideas and run with them and we couldn’t be more thrilled with the results!  We kicked off the design with the stationery that included magnolias around their initials and a custom trellis liner.  We continued those details all throughout the wedding day with their florist incorporating magnolias all throughout the flowers, and custom trellis installations that made up multiple featured backdrops behind the ceremony, the wedding cake, and on the DJ facade to create a beautiful backdrop for the packed dance floor.

We do a lot of weddings at Hamilton Place at Pursell Farms – it’s one of our favorite venues!  We wanted to bring something completely new and fresh for this design, and you can see how we were able to do that with the floor plan design.  We used the window for the ceremony musician backdrop and then for the DJ backdrop, and used the alcove for the ceremony backdrop and the wedding cake backdrop.  It’s a look we haven’t seen at this venue before and we loved it so much!

Emilie and Jake are high school sweethearts and it was incredibly special to see these two tie the knot after so many years together.  Despite the massive amounts of rain and flooding, the joy between these two was absolutely contagious.  The shared the sweetest ceremony, and then danced the night away with all of their familt and friends!  At the end of the night, they left is an adorable pink car that Emilie’s late grandfather restored just for her. 

Emilie and Jake, we are confident that you guys are going to do incredible things together.  We are praying for your marriage and cheering you on as you tackle the journey that’s ahead of you.  Thank you so much for letting us be a part of the beginning of your new life together!!
