Birmingham Staycation: The Grand Bohemian Hotel | Mountain Brook, Alabama

Jerard and I celebrated our 7 year anniversary in October.  As a wedding planner in Alabama and a high school football coach, October is an incredibly busy month for both of us so we rarely ever get a chance to get away to celebrate.  This year, I was determined to make it special!  So instead of a big vacation, we spent two days at one of the best hotels in Birmingham: The Grand Bohemian Hotel – Mountain Brook.  We’ve had several brides get ready and stay at this hotel, so we knew we were in for a treat!

Edyn from Event Services at The Grand Bohemian helped me plan our stay.  She was so sweet to take such great care of us, and made sure everything about our stay was absolutely perfect.  We checked into the most beautiful suite for a relaxing night in.  We enjoyed delicious appetizers and drinks on the gorgeous rooftop bar before dinner at Habitat Feed and Social.  The food was absolutely delicious and the service was even better.  We toasted to 7 years and talked about our plans for year 8.  We are certain that year 8 is going to be the best one yet!  Our server sent us back to our room with dessert and champagne; the best way to end an incredibly special evening.

We woke up the next day refreshed from a relaxing and fun evening before – especially because we had the luxury of sleeping in!  That’s something we don’t get to do often these days. We headed back down to Habitat Feed and Social for a delicious breakfast.  We didn’t think we had any room left in our stomachs for breakfast after the delicious dinner we had the night before, but somehow we managed to find a little bit more room for some pancakes (my favorite!).  After breakfast we headed down to the Poseidon Spa for a delightful couples massage. The spa is absolutely lovely!  From the lovely colors to the calming atmosphere, I seriously felt any kind of stress melt away the second I stepped inside.  It was the perfect end to a wonderful stay!  We are already ready to go back this year, and I’ve got my eye on one of the cooking classes for next time!
