Their celebration unfolded across two iconic Birmingham venues, beginning with a traditional ceremony at the Cathedral of the Advent and transitioning to a thoughtfully designed reception at the Birmingham Museum of Art. Each setting was carefully selected and curated to reflect both the couple’s aesthetic and the experience they wanted to create for their guests.

The ceremony took place in the historic Cathedral of the Advent, where architecture and tradition set a timeless tone. Virginia and Will exchanged vows within the cathedral’s soaring interior, where architecture and tradition provided a timeless backdrop to the ceremony. Following the ceremony, guests were greeted with champagne and seamlessly guided to the museum, where the evening’s design story continued.

At the Birmingham Museum of Art, our team focused on transforming the contemporary space into an atmosphere that felt warm, layered, and inviting, which was Virginia’s primary design goal. Through close collaboration with an exceptional vendor team, the reception featured custom drum shades, romantic drapery, patterned elements, and lush florals designed to soften the gallery environment while still honoring its architectural lines. A gallery inspired champagne display welcomed guests and set the tone for an elevated yet approachable evening.

The reception design emphasized comfort and flow, with intentional lounge groupings, candlelit tables, and soft lighting creating a sense of intimacy within the expansive venue. Every detail was selected to support both the visual impact and the guest experience, resulting in a celebration that felt polished and cohesive.
