Susan and Kevin had a stunning, traditional Indian wedding that we still cannot get over. Our sweet couple were married in the Wynfrey ballroom followed by hours and hours of the most fun celebration you’ve ever seen! Susan was a stunning bride with a huge heart and fabulous style, and Kevin was one of the most fun grooms we’ve ever met! We’re so excited for you to see more of this incredible wedding and even more incredible couple!
When we first met Susan, we loved her energy and her sweet spirit. She knew she wanted a traditional Indian wedding from the start and we were so excited to be a part of the planning process! Susan’s invitation suite, attire, jewelry and florals all perfectly reflected her traditional vision and the beautiful colors she incorporated throughout her entire wedding design.
Their wedding day started with a traditional Baraat ceremony full of music and dancing- a true celebration! A baraat is the groom’s processional to the wedding. In keeping with tradition, Kevin rode in on a horse and everyone danced and celebrated his arrival. We can truly say we’ve never seen a groom and his groomsmen have so much fun! It was the perfect way to kick off the wedding festivities!
Following the Baraat is the Jaimala ceremony where the bride enters and places a garland around the neck of her soon-to-be-husband. It symbolizes the union of the bride and groom and of their families. We love how sweet Kevin was – blowing a kiss to his bride! After this ceremony, the guests moved upstairs to the wedding ceremony.
Their wedding ceremony featured a gorgeous mandap made by KG designs. Guests were wowed by Susan’s attention to detail and the overall design of the ballroom. Susan dreamed of a garden feel with lots of ivory, pink, and pops of purple. A classic and elegantly decorated ballroom set the stage for the traditional ceremony that was about to take place.
Susan was escorted down the aisle by her four uncles. Tradition states that when she reaches the mandap, there is an antarpaat (curtain) which separates her from her groom. The acharya (priest) begins the ceremony, the antarpaat is lowered and the couple exchanges garlands.
After the ceremony, guests were invited to cocktail hour while our bridal party changed outfits and the ballroom was flipped to an amazing reception space. The lighting provided by Indaglow Productions transformed each space perfectly. We loved the patterned lighting in the cocktail hour area!
The transformation of the ballroom was an incredible team effort! Every vendor pitched in as we created a beautiful space for dinner, dancing and a whole lot of fun. Susan was inspired by gold, pink and ivory and wanted her wedding reception to be full of flowers and color. The lighting, florals and table design all brought Susan’s inspiration to life! Magic Muffins did an amazing job capturing Susan’s vision for her wedding cake. This beautiful all white cake with gold accents sat on the stage where the ceremony was performed and was a perfect focal point for the reception!
The reception doors opened and the fun began! Our couple shared their first dance and then they listened as the best man and maid of honor gave some tear-jerking toasts. Susan’s nieces also performed a dance for the newlyweds! Susan and Kevin treated their guests to both Indian and American food – the best of both worlds for a delicious dinner. Everyone had a blast celebrating Susan and Kevin and we know this because the dance floor was packed all night long!
As the night came to a close, Susan and Kevin were sent off to their happily ever after with rose petals and lots of cheers!
We had so much fun working with you, Susan and Kevin! We know you two will have a lifetime of laughter and happiness. Thank you for letting us be apart of your big day!
