Real Wedding Series | Katherine and Matt | A Birmingham Skyline Wedding

Clear, blue skies and the most perfect degree of wedding weather is exactly what we pin to be the best day.  We were recently high atop The Magic City at the iconic, The Club, where our sweet couple, Katherine and Matt, had the most amazing ceremony overlooking the best city in the world. The day could not have been more perfect, and we were honored to be a part. Joy and Jared, an adorable photography couple who make up Firefly Photography, caught every detail tremendously and thanks to them, we are so excited to share this week’s edition of The Real Wedding Series.
Meet Kat and Matt:

To begin their journey to “I do,” Kat and her friends spent the morning preparing for the biggest day of Kat’s life. Arriving to The Club, hair and make-up perfect and beautiful, Kat met her soon to be husband at a hidden back entrance overlooking the city. We love this sweet first look and the joy that is radiating from this precious couple.

Before we go any further, here are some of our favorite detail shots from Kat and Matt’s big day.  Hothouse Design Studio did a tremendous job in designing all of the floral elements. We love the bright and bold pops of pink; don’t you?

The ceremony site was set on The Club‘s patio which so masterfully captures the beauty of Birmingham in all its glory. There wasn’t a single cloud in the sky, and the temperature was absolute perfection. In Alabama, our weather can be slightly (or extremely) unpredictable. However, Kat and Matt chose the best day of the year, and the scene could not have been set anymore magically.

Kat and Matt surprised their family and friends by having a first dance for the memory books. After a quick change, Kat popped out, presented her new husband with a white blazer, and they took center stage where they danced to “More than a Woman” from Saturday Night Fever.  What their guests didn’t know was our couple had taken lessons to make sure they had all of Travolta’s moves down to a “T.” They couldn’t have been more spot on and their guest book couldn’t have been a more perfect element to remember their night.

Magic Muffins designed the perfect cake for Katherine and Matt. One special element was the vintage drinking chalice that was Katherine’s grandmothers. Katherine’s grandparents toasted to their new life together on their wedding day many years ago with this very chalice. What an honor to follow in their footsteps!

Moving on to more surprises, Kat and Matt ended their night with some killer karaoke. This was our first time  having a karaoke element, and from rappers to closet vocalists, our couple’s friends and family had a blast jamming out to their favorite hits, new and old.

A wedding high above Birmingham wouldn’t have been complete without a photo in front of  The Club’s infamous front signage.
