Becky's Brides is a Birmingham, Alabama based wedding planning studio creating joyful weddings full of Southern hospitality. Thanks for stopping by.
Rain on a wedding day is not always ideal, but for Addie and Kerry, even torrential rain couldn’t ruin an amazingly perfect wedding day. We recently had the honor of celebrating our sweet couple at Douglas Manor in Columbiana, Alabama for a beautiful outdoor ceremony. J.Woodbery Photography caught every precious moment, and we could not be more excited to show you this week’s edition of Becky’s Brides, Real Wedding Series.
Meet Addie and Kerry:
Addie was a gorgeous bride and spent the morning among family and friends preparing to marry her best friend. Her dress was absolutely STUNNING! It was sweet, delicately colored and a perfect fit for our precious bride. When wedding planning, every detail can be planned and executed perfectly, but unfortunately, one thing we cannot control is the weather. Addie and Kerry shared a first look for the memory books. Let’s set the scene. As there was a break in the downpour that set the stage for the day, there was a break in the clouds, and we knew this was the perfect time for their first look. The lighting was amazing, and as luck would have it, as soon as Kerry turned around to see his beautiful bride, the bottom fell out (literally, folks), and it poured harder than it had all day. Surprisingly, our couple was not phased at all. They didn’t run; they didn’t try to hide. They stood in the rain in complete awe and wonder of one another, and to date, this may be the absolute sweetest thing we have ever seen. And for a bride dressed to the nines with every hair in place, the fact that they were not phased (at all!!) reminded us that love truly conquers all. The way Kerry looked at his bride (oh, my goodness!) would give anyone goosebumps.
For anyone who thinks that having a first look takes away the surprise, the look on Kerry’s face should be enough proof to make anyone believe that a first look can be even more special than waiting to meet at the altar.
Hothouse Design Studio was on-site and created the dreamiest atmosphere filled with tantalizing details and some of the most gorgeous bouquets and greenery you could ever see.
The ceremony was beautiful, and the rain held out, which was a blessing, as the guests stayed dry and true love was tied together for eternity. The reception was a fun-filled party complete with a milkshake and coffee bar. Joe’s Italian created Addie and Kerry’s scrumptious naked wedding cake which was in the middle of beautiful, hanging greenery adorned with crystal. We loved the sign that welcomed guests to the milkshake bar. We bet we know what song is stuck in your head now…
One thing we know: details were not lacking on this wedding day. We loved all of them, especially the lounge that Prophouse Birmingham created. Personalization was a key component, and we love to see the significance of what a name means. It is who you are, who you become, and what a wonderful way to embrace your new life as husband and wife.
Addie and Kerry, it was a true honor to celebrate with you. Thank you for trusting Becky’s Brides with your perfect day. We wish you all the happiness in the world!
