Gillian + Mason | A Luxurious Wedding at The Grand Bohemian Hotel

When I met Gillian and her mom, I knew planning with them was going to be a highlight of 2023!  Gillian is originally from Connecticut but made the South her home by way of The University of Alabama.  Many of her guests were coming from the Northern part of the country and it was so incredible to get to show them how we do beautiful Southern weddings in Alabama! 

Gillian was envisioning an elegant garden inspired wedding and The Grand Bohemian Hotel was the perfect backdrop to bring that to life.  She loves neutral colors, sage green, and pops of gold which compliments the hotel perfectly.  Gillian and her sister are both talented artists and it was so fun to incorporate unique details that they designed into her big day.  The ceremony was supposed to be outside, but Mother Nature had other plans that required us to move indoors, but it was truly a beautiful ceremony regardless.  Some of my favorite design elements included her understated yet elegant paper suite from Empress Stationery, the stunning floral display around the grand piano that was played during cocktail hour, the romantic candle runners that led guests’ eyes to the large white trees that filled the ballroom, the glowing candle walls behind the custom bars, the custom designed dance floor,  and the stunning patterned salad plates that adorned the head table.  It was a day filled with so many intentional details, and it was absolutely stunning.

But even more importantly than all the beautiful details was the love, joy and laughter that filled the day.  It is obvious that Gillian and Mason are truly loved by so many people.  It was truly an honor to get to witness the first day of their marriage, and see all of their friends and family celebrate the start of their new life together.  Gillian and Mason (and Randy!), it was indeed a highlight of 2023 to get to plan you’re wedding day with you.  Thank you so much for trusting us with such an incredibly special day.  I have no doubt that you two are going to do amazing things together throughout your marriage and I am cheering you on every step of the way!  We <3 the Lakes!
