We LOVE this time of the year! There is just something so special about the holiday season. From Thanksgiving to Christmas to New Years and everything in between, there is so much to do that it can get overwhelming really quickly! We wanted to help you tame your holiday season by creating a must-do holiday bucket list!
Visit Santa (Where can you find Santa in Birmingham? The Summit, the Galleria and Brookwood Village are all great options!)
Bake cookies and drink hot cocoa – you can find my favorite crock pot hot chocolate recipe here!
Look at Christmas lights (For our Birmingham locals, Zoolight Safari isn’t just for the kids!)
Travel to a Christmas tree farm – we love Old Bakers Farm because it’s close enough for a quick half-day trip but it still feels like you’ve traveled to find the perfect tree!
Have a gingerbread making competition – decide what prize the winner gets!
Watch a Christmas movie (Another one for Birmingham locals- be sure to buy tickets in advance and catch a holiday favorite at the Alabama Theatre!)
Catch a Trans-Siberian Orchestra show (If you missed them in Birmingham last night, check to see if they’re playing somewhere close – they are awesome!)
Host a Tacky Sweater Party or a Dirty Santa gift exchange – extra points if you host it on Christmas Eve!
Create a new Christmas tradition and write it down
Go ice skating (Did you know Birmingham has their own outdoor ice skating rink? It’s true! Located in Railroad Park!)
Spend lots and lots of time with friends and family
Bake festive cookies and take them to your neighbors, your local fire department, police station – anyone who you think could use a boost of energy this busy season!
What are some items are your holiday bucket list? Share with us!
