It’s hard to believe that we’re already in full planning mode for 2018 weddings! This year has flown by but we’re so excited for what’s in store. 2017 is the year of greenery and golds, but what will 2018 look like for brides-to-be? We asked HotHouse Design Studio owner and well-known Birmingham trendsetter, Mandy Majerik, what her thoughts are on 2018 styles.

What do you project to be the number one wedding decor trend in 2018? While doing some research, I found the most prominent colors coming into the decor/wedding market to be navy, mustard and we are still seeing a heavy influence of blush and neutrals.
What’s your guess on the Pantone color of the year for 2018? This is always hard to predict! I would guess either something out of the box and bold, such as a mustard golden color or the opposite end of the spectrum claiming a neutral metallic like a champagne or version of rose gold.
What would you like to see become a trend in 2018? I would love to see more bold patterns being used in weddings. Most brides play it safe with neutral linens and pretty textures. There are so many new patterns in the marketplace available, especially in lounge furniture, pillows, rugs and table linens. If pattern is too much or scares you a bit, I recommend introducing it in something small like accent pillows. Most times, a pattern can also bring all of the colors together in harmony.
