Becky's Brides is a Birmingham, Alabama based wedding planning studio creating joyful weddings full of Southern hospitality. Thanks for stopping by.
True Southern charm. For Becky’s Brides couple, Carmen and Stephen, this quality was exactly what they had in mind when planning their wedding day. By choosing the Historic Rucker Place, in downtown Birmingham, authentic southern charm is just what they got. Additions to our Real Wedding Series are our absolute favorite, as it is why we do what we do, and we are beyond excited to share it with you. Special thank you to Breanna Fogg Photography for capturing this couple so beautifully.
Meet Carmen and Stephen.
A couple of neat tidbits about our bride: Carmen has a really nifty downtown loft, which is where her wedding day began, and her wedding dress was custom made for her. It was absolutely stunning.
Carmen dreamed of simplistic beauty, tying in subtle hints of peach throughout her floral arrangements, provided by Lillie Jane, and tied in a gorgeous shade of blue which she chose for her bridesmaids.
One sweet aspect of this wedding was that Carmen and Stephen chose not to see each other before their walk down the aisle as keeping with tradition was high on the list of must-haves for our couple. It is always so sweet to see a groom in awe of his bride as she walks towards him down the aisle. The expression on Stephen’s face was enough to draw a few tears (as if you were watching the latest Nicholas Sparks Movie).
The ceremony took place in the Rucker Place garden, under soft string lights and an arbor covered with soft, old fashioned primroses.
Savoie Catering provided a phenomenal meal. Not only was the food top notch, but the presentation was delectably enticing. But this is always the case with our friends at Savoie (they also have a white barbecue chicken skewer which is to die for).
Carmen and Stephen had a beautiful, yet tastefully simple, white frosted bridal cake, provided by Wedding Cakes by Jan. If you have been around long enough, you know that your friends here at Becky’s Brides love cake; so if we are mentioning it, it must have been a truly amazing treat.
Some neat aspects of the Historic Rucker Place are that every room is captivating and packed full of old world charm and that the property houses a three story grand staircase (we definitely worked our calves on this wedding day). Carmen and Stephen shared their first meal as husband and wife under a beautiful chandelier in the quaintest room we have ever laid eyes on.
Stephen’s son was the sweetest addition to the wedding party, with the most gorgeous, crystal blue eyes. Isn’t he handsome?
Every detail was beautiful yet carefully chosen. We are so grateful that this precious couple chose Becky’s Brides to share their special day. So as we leave you, we wanted to share some of our favorite details of Carmen and Stephen’s wedding day.
