Over the last few years social media has blown up and blogging seems like it’s a dying trend. So the million dollar question is: when it comes to marketing your business, is blogging dead?
Answer: absolutely not.
Here are the top 4 reasons why you should consistently be blogging to promote your wedding business:
- Google loves new content, and blogging is the easiest way to provide new content for Google. Blogging is the best way to rank on Google and make your business easy to find.
- Blogging is an easy way to show your newest work without having to update your website portfolio. In the wedding industry trends change so quickly and it’s important to make sure your latest and greatest work is easy to find for potential couples.
- It establishes credibility as an expert in your field. Couples want to book vendors they feel confident in and blogging allows you to show potential couples you know what you’re talking about and you have the work to back it up.
- You own your blog. You do NOT own Instagram, TikTok, Facebook or any other social media. If those all go away tomorrow or you were to lose your account, what do you have left? Only the things you own such as your website and your blog. This alone should scare you enough to start blogging!
Another reason I love blogging is because I use it when clients inquire with me to create more of a connection with them. For instance if they let me know they are getting married at a particular venue, I can respond to the inquiry directing them to blog posts featuring weddings I’ve done at the venue they’ve selected. It helps speak to my experience!
If you’ve been slacking on your blog, or if you don’t have one it at all, I’d encourage you to get started! Set a small goal for yourself – maybe one blog post a month – so you won’t be overwhelmed and you can keep up. Comment below with your latest blog post so I can come cheer you on!
