I am so excited to introduce you to one of my sweet brides, Megan. She and her husband, Taylor were recently married at Aldridge Gardens in Hoover, AL in September. They had an absolutely stunning wedding and I was so thrilled to be able to work with Megan throughout her planning process.
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
Megan: “Meeting with the vendors was by far the best part! You have such an ideal picture of what you want your wedding day to look like, and the vendors make everything come to life. It was so fun to hear their ideas and see everything start to come together.”
What was the most difficult part?
Megan: “Decisions. There are so many options that it is easy to get overwhelmed or start to steer away from what I originally wanted. It’s good to see options so I wasn’t tied down, but it was easy to have too many choices. Luckily, Becky knew my likes and dislikes and was able to help in choosing the right vendors and help everything stay together.”
Why did you decide to hire a full service planner?
Megan: “A wedding can be extremely stressful and it can take away from the true meaning of the wedding. A wedding planner puts the fun and excitement back into the wedding planning. They take away the stress! I cannot imagine the process without a wedding planner. The day turned out absolutely beautiful and the whole process was a blast!”
What was your favorite thing(s) about your wedding?
Megan: “Spending the morning with my bridesmaids, mom, and aunt getting ready was a blast. Since I had a planner I could relax that morning and spend the morning primping with my best friends. We drank mimosas and goofed around all morning. Also, between the ceremony and reception, my husband and I sat down for our first meal as husband and wife. It is the only quiet moment of the day you will get together so it was extremely special to us.”
What were some of your favorite details?
Megan: “Our DJ was a huge hit! I was worried no one would dance at our wedding, but we had a Congo line going. The pictures afterwards were also very special. The day flies by so having those memories to look at afterwards was extraordinary.”
Looking back, was there anything you would have done differently? Any regrets?
No, our day went without a hitch and was so magical! I wish I could make it last forever. My tip to any bride is to enjoy the process and the big day. It is one of the biggest days of your life so enjoy every moment of it!
